HEMINGWAY DAIQUIRI
The cocktail that perhaps answers the question, “What would Hemingway drink?”! Or not. The history of this drink and relation to Hemingway himself is dubious at best. What’s unique about this daiquiri is the addition of Maraschino liqueur to sweeten, and the presence of grapefruit juice. The result is a very smooth drink that is especially refreshing on hot summer days and evenings.
Recipe
1 1/2 oz White Rum
1/4 oz Maraschino liqueur
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled, 15 seconds. Strain into martini glass.
