EL PRESIDENTE
I was looking for a cocktail that used vermouth blanc since I had a bottle of Dolin that was being neglected. Enter El Presidente! There are a number of recipes out there but I’m glad I found this one from David Lebovitz. It’s a great recipe to play around with variations on the rum and orange liqueur to find the combos you enjoy best!
Recipe
1 1/2 oz Golden Rum (Dark works well, too)
3/4 oz Vermouth Blanc
1/2 oz Orange Liqueur
1 barspoon Grenadine
Orange Twist
Maraschino Cherry
Combine rum, vermouth, orange liqueur and grenadine in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice and stir until thoroughly chilled. Strain into chilled martini glass or coupe. Add orange twist and cherry.
