MARTINEZ
The Martinez is a classic cocktail at the crossroads of a Manhattan and a Martini. The original recipe calls for a type of gin known as Old Tom style, which is a sweeter, less-botanical version than the traditional juniper-forward gins most people know. This is a great cocktail to experiment with other boutique gins as well. Have fun playing around with the Martinez!
Recipe
1 1/2 oz Gin
1 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
1/4 oz Maraschino liqueur
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice and stir until thoroughly chilled, 30 seconds. Strain into martini glass.
